It's been so embarrassing driving around with my faded yellow head lights! I honestly thought these kits were nothing more than superficial and would not work. While having my mini van serviced three weeks ago, the repair guy tried to con me to let them restore my headlights for a bargain price of $129.00. (!!!) He must have been kidding me, I mean like, really? I decided to try this headlamp restorer kit since my lights were so dark and hazy that the only light emitted was a brownish yellow faded blur. After about an hour and 15 minutes total time for both lights, I cannot believe I had not done this sooner! I am no longer embarrassed! This kit is a must if you want clear headlights again.

My headlights plastics lens covers on my  325i were beginning to look plain ugly. I tried using some other  plastic lens cleaner and polish which did improve the appearance quite a bit. I spent over $95 with someone who claimed to be a professional headlight restoration specialist. He spent over an hour on one of the headlights, but at the end of his process it looked almost the same as before (dull and yellowish)! He told me that was the best he can do with the condition of my headlight. He recommended that I  buy a set of complete e headlight assembly for my car . I was very disappointed to say the least to have paid someone that much money without looking like new! Then I went online and did my research and found many restoration kits out there on the market. I almost bought the 3M kit, but decided to buy this premium GlassyLite kit since my headlight was claimed to be bad enough to have to buy a brand new headlight assembly. When I received this product, I couldn't wait to try it. I spent about 45 minutes on the bad headlight and the results were amazing! It actually works when you follow their step by step process. I have to say I'm totally amazed at how well this product works.  Both headlight were looking pretty bad and I almost bought new ones . Can You See A Difference?
The Problem:
 
  In the past, automotive headlight lenses were made of glass and came in a limited number of sizes and shapes that fit all automotive applications. With the move toward lighter materials and more aerodynamic vehicle designs, automakers began using predominantly polycarbonate as the headlight lens material of choice over the last 20 years. Vehicles with polycarbonate headlight lenses now make up the vast majority of the vehicles on the road. This plastic material is very light and can be molded into an unlimited number of shapes and sizes to satisfy today’s vehicle designers.

Polycarbonate, unlike glass, has a slightly porous surface, with these pores opening and closing with changing temperatures. The pores open when the headlight is on, or on sunny days when the lens is hot, and close when the headlights are turned off or on cloudy days. As a result, various types of debris from the road become trapped in the pores over time, leading to discoloration of the lens. In addition, as polycarbonate is a hydrocarbon, it oxidizes over time with exposure to heat and ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight. This oxidation results in the lens discoloring to a dull brownish/yellow tint, appearing fogged or faded and losing much of its optical clarity. This condition can be found on headlights as little as 2-3 years old and is very common on older vehicles.

As an overall result of the degradation processes described above, the headlight not only becomes unsightly, but also unsafe. Less light passes through the degraded headlight lens, resulting in diminished vision during night driving. The only initial solution to the appearance and safety issues of degraded headlights was to purchase replacements, which could run well over $500 for a pair of replacement headlights for many vehicles.
